[Hisashi Tenmyouya x Fuco Ueda] Notice of the two-person exhibition

At gallery MUMON in Tokyo, where I had a solo exhibition last year, a two-person exhibition with Hisashi Tenmyouya will start from December 3rd.
I plan to exhibit 4 new works and 2 old works.
Please come to the gallery after taking measures against infectious diseases such as masks.
I look forward to welcoming you!

From gallery MUMON press release
“Hisashi Tenmyouya declares his unique painting expression,” Neo Nihonga “, which inherits and develops the spirit and world view of each school of traditional Japanese painting. In addition, he is brilliant and predominant (extraordinary), and he creates works based on the original concept of “BASARA”, which is a general term for the genealogy of the beauty of the martial arts, which is based on the street’s line of sight to Japanese modernism. I will. He has broken down common sense and customs, and has drawn in layers with progressively modified themes and critical concepts of history and institutions for art. In this exhibition, we will mainly present a battle map in which samurai fight intertwined.
On the other hand, Fuco Ueda has established her own world view by drawing a daydream-like scene where the reality and fantasy that a girl experiences are mixed with unique colors and color schemes. The view of the world has influenced many writers. When people are at the mercy of the flood of images and have the joy of being able to approach a place that is nowhere else, the work depicted with personal feelings, on the other hand, is a reality for people of the same age who live in modern times when substances and information are saturated. It creates sympathy as a mirror of. The work depicts the chief of art, sometimes referred to by art history, and artificially improved goldfish and chrysanthemums in search of beauty, with historicality, irony, and criticism.
A co-star that can be said to be the exact opposite of Tenmyouya, who draws a brave male image, and Ueda, who draws a fantastic female image. Please take a look at what will be born in this space. 』
